Michael Lyles 1st ASGT Champion!
Net 68 Wins ASGT Inaugural Championship and $700 by a Single Stroke!

03/28/11 - 12:00 NOON

It’s been said “It was through perseverance that the snail made it into the ark!” Well, that’s too long ago to know for sure but one thing is certain . . . . Perseverance paid off for Michael Lyles of Lantana, TX who captured the 2011 ASGTour Inaugural Championship title.

Michael, playing in his 19th tournament round and having never posted a score lower than 90, finally broke that barrier and posted a score of 87 (Net 68) in winning his first event ever and the first event of the All Star Golf Tour.

Michael picked up $700 in first place prize money in the field of twelve players that produced a total payout of over $1500. With his hard work over the winter looking like it’s paying him dividends expect more success from Michael now that he has the taste of winning.

One stroke in back of Michael was Bryce Benson from Graford, TX playing with a 1 handicap. Bryce posted a two under par scratch 70 to produce his second place net 69. Bryce picked up $660 in total winnings with his great performance raking in most of the optional game monies for the day.

Once again the ASGT proprietary handicapping system proved how it levels the playing field and gives all players a chance to win. When a 19 and a 1 handicap finish within a single stroke of each other it’s plain to see everyone has an equal opportunity to win on the All Star Golf Tour.
